Insomnia is a common by-product of many mental health issues. It's not hard to see why the symptoms of general anxiety can make it difficult to sleep. Our minds run at a million miles an hour and it can be tricky to switch off and anxieties start to creep in.
When this accumulates over many nights, or many months anxieties start to creep in. A feeling of dread or panic over the mere thought of the prospect of not sleeping. Anxieties and insomnia can begin to feed into one another and become a vicious cycle.
To break the cycle I release my anxieties onto paper. Discard of all the pent-up, anxious energies and frustrations onto the page and close the book.
